Send files through chat on Orkut

The new and latest addition to Orkut is that you can send files

over from chat on Orkut. This is in actually probably a test phase before rolling out ‘Send a File’ feature on Gmail.
This feature has also been introduced in iGoogle and according to their blog it will soon make its way into Gmail

chat.

• Before you start using it you must be sure that the person receiving the file also is using either Gtalk messenger or using iGoogle or Orkut to chat and not logged in from Gmail.
• As of now Gmail does not support this feature but in future it certainly will.
• This gives Orkut a bit of a head up over Facebook considering sending and receiving files from a social network
  
  is a little new and also quite convenient.

How To Hide Scrapbook Completely From Your Friends on Orkut!

Sometimes it happens that you get a friend request from a bully from your school or workplace. You love your privacy but you cannot reject his request as you are in same social circle. At such times you really wish you can just hide your scrapbook, albums and other content from such people even after accepting their friend requests.
Now such privacy features are available on Facebook but on Orkut there is no official way. Personally, I am waiting for such feature on Orkut sine long but for time being I am using a workaround.
I run Orkut scrapbook cleaner script periodically on my account. This script when run, deletes all your scraps automatically.
I know it really hurts to delete all your scraps but that’s the best way to avoid information misuse. If you have some important content in any scrap, you can copy it to your email account or save it as a file on your computer.
I hope Orkut will improve its scrapbook privacy features in near future. Till that time if you are really concerned about your privacy, you can use this script.

Invisible blank name on orkut

In previous posts i wrote about how to make your orkut profile picture invisible or you can say unclickable by using microsoft paint as your tool. Now this simple trick will make your first and last name blank in your profile. So, here are the steps that will let you have some more fun while orkuting.
Login into your orkut account, access your profile page

1. Now click on edit profile.
2. Now delete the text from the first and last name boxes and keeping the cursor in those text boxes, type alt+0173.
3. Do this on both the text boxes.
4. And now save your profile.

Voila.. !! there is nothing written as your profile name, your invisible now, now everybody will see blank space in place of your profile name everywhere, in recent onliners and just everywhere.
